Hello my name is Braden.

Hi, my name is Braden Kenyon, originally born and bred in Canada, and I am a Cairns-based professional wedding photographer with 13 years of experience.

A little bit about myself and how I became a professional wedding photographer.

I took photography as a hobby very seriously when my wife became pregnant in Beijing, China in 2008. Knowing our little one growing inside her for the first time, I got excited and took many pictures of my wife during her pregnancy, and even during she was giving birth! I took pictures of my daughter every day after she was born too. Through this experience, I learnt that photography is the best way to keep the precious memories alive. Honestly, the pictures I took on those early days mean more than the world to me and my family.

After that discovery, I became obsessed and invested so much money and time into photography.

Slowly, people who knew how obsessed I was with photography started asking me if I could shoot their family photos, birthdays, etc. Being a foreigner who speaks English and Chinese and also takes photos, once I started to take photos of expats in Beijing, my clients grew quickly, and pretty soon I was invited in many embassy events, functions, and receptions. Then, eventually, I was asked to take photos of weddings too.

In 2010, I moved to this most beautiful place in the world, Cairns and Palm Cove surroundings, with my wife and our two beautiful children.

From that time, I got professionally trained and started working as a lead photographer for a prestigious photography boutique called mefoto. Having shot millions of weddings for mefoto, in 2017, I started my own business called STUDIO EPIC (the website you are looking at right now!). Fast-forward, I still love photography and here I am in 2023 :)

On your wedding day, I promise I will be a few things as an experienced professional wedding photographer in Cairns.

One, I will be a photo-artist and bring the most gorgeous and best-looking “you” out of you. I want you to look your very best in photos, and I promise you that that can get done easily because I know the best angle, light, posing, and all the geeky things a professional wedding photographer must know to make that possible.

Two, I will be a great photojournalist and record an every single detail and moment that you don’t wanna miss or forget. Every smile, every movement, every emotion, every formality, and all your investment, … yes, absolutely everything! Like I said earlier, I know how important it is for you and your family to keep the precious memories alive. We don’t have a magic wand and we can’t time-travel, but with my photography magic, your pictures will remain timeless and you will have something beautiful to show to your great grand-children in the future!

Three, I will be a great entertainer, organiser, and a leader to orchestrate things on your wedding day on behalf of you. All you need to do is trust my professionalism, years of experience, and my easy-going personality so that all your energy can be spent on nothing but enjoying your BIG day - the most important job for you on the day!
